I would like to make you aware that all veterinary schools in North America are in the process of changing their protocols for vaccinating dogs and cats. Vet Business Aspects "Most vets recommend annual boosters and most kennel operators require them. For years the pricing structure of vets has misled clients into thinking that the inherent value of an annual office visit was in the "shots"! They failed to emphasize the importance of a physical exam for early detection of treatable diseases. It is my hope that you will emphasize the importance of a recent vet exam. I also hope to see vets accepting the new protocols and honor these pets as currently vaccinated. Those in the boarding business who will honor the new vaccine protocols can gain new customers who were turned away from vet owned boarding facilities reluctant to change. Ej's Vaccine Schedule This is how our dogs are vaccinated. We don't have a vet that has adopted the new protocol as of yet. We just tell our vet what we want. Most know of the new protocol but won't change unless more people become educated! We Follow Dr. Dodds Vaccine Protocol.
I use only killed 3 year rabies vaccine for adults and give it separated from other vaccines by 3-4 weeks. In some states, they may be able to give titer test result in lieu of booster. I Do Not use Bordetella, corona virus, leptospirosis or Lyme vaccines. Futhermore, the currently licensed leptospira bacterins do not contain the serovars causing the majority of clinical leptospirosis today. We Do Not vaccinate bitches during estrus, pregnancy or lactation. We Do Not vaccinate during times of stress such as: surgery, travel, illness or infection.
